June 2007- CEPMC met Wolfgang Tiefensee in Berlin

In June 2007, the Executive Board meeting of CEPMC was organised in Berlin, in the frame of the German Presidency of the European Union. German Federal Minister for Transport, Building and Urban Affairs Wolfgang Tiefensee was CEPMC Guest Speaker during a festive evening hosted by the Bundesverband Baustoffe - Steine und Erden e. V. in Berlin on 13th June 2007. Invited by CEPMC President, Jim O'Brien and BBS President Dr.-Ing. Gernot Schaefer, CEOs of the German industry of building materials and the members of CEPMC Executive Board, enjoyed the magic evening lights of Pariser Platz in the city center of Berlin.

"We are impressed by your progressive initiatives under the Leipzig Charta and the Energy Passport for buildings, said Jim O'Brien to Minister Tiefensee, both of which will have huge dividends at the environmental, social and economic levels. Through replicating such initiatives thoughout the EU, the building materials sector can really have a positive impact on Climate Change and on our common future lifestyles".

No doubt that speeches and roundtable discussions which took place during that evening will stimulate ongoing constructive interactions and initiatives both at the German and EU levels.
